Authorities are investigating a violent stabbing that left one person dead following an altercation inside a Union County restaurant Friday night.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 10 p.m., police were dispatched to the TGI Friday’s after receiving reports of a physical altercation.
Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified individual suffering from stab wounds.
The victim was found lying on the ground in the TGI Friday’s parking lot suffering from a stab wound.
Emergency responders administered CPR at the scene before transporting the victim to University Hospital in Newark, where they were later pronounced dead.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office has taken the lead in the investigation to determine what prompted the deadly attack.
As of early Saturday morning, no arrests had been announced, and officials have not released additional details about the incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
