The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has taken the lead in an investigation into a shooting that left a person dead in Trenton Sunday morning.
According to police, at approximately 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Centre Street.
Units arrived and found a male victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police have not provided a description of the potential suspect at this time.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
