Old Bridge Police are investigating a hit and run incident that killed a pedestrian on Tuesday morning.
Acting Chief Joe Mandola said at approximately 6:45 a.m., a motorist called Old Bridge Police dispatch in reference to a person lying in the grass median of Route 9 between Ferry Road and Spring Valley Road.
According to Acting Chief Joe Mandola, upon arrival to the area, officers discovered a deceased middle-aged male.
Acting Chief Joe Mandola said the person appears to be the victim of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.
Route 9 in both directions will remain closed for the duration of the investigation.
Acting Chief Joe Mandola said traffic would be diverted to Route 18.
