A shooting that seriously injured a male in a Newark neighborhood has authorities on the search for a suspect.
It happened at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the 60's block of 16th Avenue -at Littleton Avenue- where reports of shots fired sent police to the scene.
Arriving units began to close off the area as they searched the area for possible victims and suspects according to preliminary reports.
A male victim was rushed to University Hospital after a gunman reportedly walked up to him armed with a gun and fired round towards his head before entering a light colored vehicle that sped away reports said.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
