A shooting in the city's West Ward has police on the scene with a male victim down at this time.
Reports of shots fired rang out in the 600 block of South 20th Street shortly before 5 p.m. sending police to the scene where they located the victim suffering critical injuries after being shot at that location.
EMS transported the male victim to University Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.
There is a large crime established and an investigation underway .
Avoid the area.
