Crash on NJ Turnpike in Linden Leaves One Dead

New Jersey State Police Officials are looking into a crash that left one person dead on the NJ Turnpike early Sunday morning.

According to a preliminary investigation, the crash happened at approximately 3 a.m. in the southbound outer lanes near exit 13 in Linden where police were called to the scene to investigate a collision with injuries reported.

Units arriving at the scene found a severely damaged vehicle that was reportedly struck by a truck with injured occupants inside according to reports.

Medical personnel provided life-saving techniques on one of the injured, but the unidentified person died at the scene.

At least one other person was transported to University Hospital in Newark suffering serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
