Authorities in Monmouth County are investigating a crash that killed one person on NJ-33 in Howell Township on Friday morning.
A preliminary investigation revealed that police responded to reports of a crash with injuries on NJ-33 near Colts Neck Road at approximately midnight.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found the vehicle engulfed in flames, with one person ejected from the car.
The injured was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the crash, and an investigation is active.
There were no other severe injuries reported.
