CHOKE HOLD ROBBERS STRIKE AGAIN IN LINDEN

Linden

Police said a Linden gas station that has been robbed before was targeted again by the “choke hold” robbers Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to the Gulf Gas Station located at 101 N. Park Ave. on a report of a robbery shortly before 5 p.m.

Officers spoke to the attendant, a 60-year old man, who told them that while he was in the booth, two dark-skinned males entered the booth and one suspect put him in a “hug,” while the second suspect went through his pockets and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The two then fled the scene walking towards Mildred Avenue. A witness attempted to follow them and believed they entered a car which had been parked around the block.

Both suspects were approximately 5’11” with one wearing an orange hooded-sweatshirt and the second suspect had a black T-shirt and gray camouflage pants.

The attendant was not injured. Detectives will be reviewing video surveillance footage for leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ken Mikolajczyk at 908-474-8542.

The same gas station was also robbed on April 18, 2014. It is believed the same crew is responsible for both robberies as well as others in the county.
