Cherry Hill Police Investigate Shooting Near Hotel That Caused Injuries

Gunfire that erupted near a hotel in the city early this morning sent several police units to the scene to investigate. 

Reports of shots fired in the 700 block of Cuthbert Boulevard sent police to the scene shortly before 2 a.m. where an immediate investigation took place. Authorities arriving to the scene discovered an injured victim but could not immediately determine if the victim was struck by gunfire. 

A short time later, hospital officials from Cooper Medical Center notified police of a victim apparently suffering injury from gunfire was transported via private vehicle to the emergency room. The victim's injuries were not reported to be life threatening. It is believed that this victim was shot at the crime scene. 

The motive for the shootings are under investigation.
