Carteret Shots Fired Incident Under Investigation; Injuries

There were non-life threatening injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred in a neighborhood in Carteret during the overnight hours.

According to preliminary reports, police found the victim just outside of the police station located in the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue at approximately 3:40 a.m.

Officers investigating the incident focused their attention in the vicinity of Roosevelt and Lefferts where they conducted a shot fired investigation according to police.

The unidentified victim was transported to an area hospital where doctors treated what is being reported as a graze wound.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting at this time.
