Authorities in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident that caused property damage in a Newark North Ward said neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
Residents in the vicinity of Parker Street and Park Avenue dialed 911 when they heard several loud popping noises around 8:25 p.m.
Fast responding police arrived to find evidence that a shooting occurred, but after units thoroughly searched the area, there were no injuries reported.
Police say bullets struck two unoccupied cars.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests were made.
