Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Bloomfield Police Director Samuel A. Demaio announced today that the Bloomfield Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide / Major Crimes
The Task Force are in the early stages of investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision at 1129 Broad Street in Bloomfield.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:14 am. The victim has been identified as Gary Moore, 69, of Montclair.
Moore was crossing the street after leaving a bagel shop when he was struck and killed.
He was pronounced at the scene.
Moore was struck by a 39 year old Bloomfield man who stayed at the scene. At this time no charges have been filed against the driver who was traveling in a Toyota Corolla.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
