Camden Man Arraigned in Fatal Shooting

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a Camden man has been arraigned in the fatal shooting that occurred May 8, 2016 in the city.

Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. ordered Robert Wilcox, 31, held on $1,500,000 cash or bond bail Tuesday afternoon in the death of 38-year-old Lance Jenkins of Camden.

According to a probable cause statement issued by assistant prosecutor Peter Crawford, Wilcox is accused of fatally shooting Jenkins on the 1400 block of Bradley Ave. in Camden.

Camden County Police responded to the area at approximately 3:08 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016 in reference to a ShotSpotter activation for a single gunshot. Officers located the victim lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:22 a.m.
