Camden County Corrections Officer Charged with Drug Distribution

A Corrections Officer at the Camden County Correctional Facility, Christopher Bowie, on November 4th was found to be in possession of illegal drugs when he reported to the correctional facility to begin his shift.

Officials say a search of Bowie, 47, of Sicklerville in Winslow Township, revealed suspected Oxycodone pills, Suboxone strips and Xanax on his person, as well as inside of his vehicle.  It is alleged that the drugs were to be distributed throughout the facility.

According to authorities, Officer Christopher Bowie was immediately suspended from his position pending the outcome of the investigation into this case by Camden County Corrections Internal Affairs and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Prosecutions Unit.

Officials charged Christopher Bowie with Manufacturing, Distributing or Dispensing of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Official Misconduct.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
