California Woman Charged with Intent to Distribute Marijuana in Bergen County

Bergen County authorities reported the arrest of Ms. Fernanda Young Oakland, California, on drug offenses.

According to authorities, on February 17, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force revealed that young was transporting bulk shipments of marijuana through Bergen County.

During this investigation, officials said a search was conducted on a U-Haul rental truck in Carlstadt, NJ.

The search revealed packages of marijuana with a total weight of 236 pounds, along with crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Police arrested Young at the scene of the search.

She was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana over 25 lbs. with the intent to distribute, among other charges. 

Young was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack. 

Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
