A shooting that occurred in a Newark North Ward community has police searching for a suspect this morning.
It happened in 70's block of Cutler Street where police responded to reports of shots fired just before 11 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, several officers arrived at the scene and recovered shell casings, but after a search of the area, there were no victims found.
Police found that a bullet entered the window of a residence at that location.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
The shooting is one of several incidents that occurred in Newark during to overnight hours.
