Police set up a crime scene in the 400 block of Bergen Street after a shooting left one person with minor injuries late last night in Newark.
Officials at University Hospital contacted authorities when a vehicle that was struck by several bullets arrived at the hospital's emergency department drive-up shortly before 10 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, the vehicle was occupied by multiple passengers, but only one person suffered a non-life threatening injury after gunfire erupted on Bergen Street.
Another vehicle that was struck by gunfire drove to Newark Police headquarters immediately after the shooting. Police processed the dark colored minivan that had the rear window partially blown out.
There were no immediate reports of arrests made.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
