Elmwood Park authorities are looking into a job site accident that left one person dead this evening in the city.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called to the 300 block of East 54th Street after receiving reports of a person trapped under a forklift before 5:30 pm
According to Bergen County authorities, a Brooklyn man in his late 50’s was fatally injured when the forklift fell on top of him.
Authorities said Mr. Lin Yi Hui was the operator of the forklift when it fell after getting to close to the edge of a ramp.
Police say Hui was pronounced dead at the scene when the forklift fell on his head.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
