Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting Wednesday morning in the city’s downtown.
According to Newark Police officials, there were no injuries reported after a gunman produced a weapon near 17 Branford Place and began firing at known targets near businesses.
Police say the suspect fled the scene on Treat Place.
Officers arrived on the scene and found evidence that a shooting occurred but no victims according to Newark Police officials.
The suspect has only been described as a bald black male who fled the scene in an older model Jeep Cherokee.
The incident remains under investigation.
