BREAKING UNION: Severe Injuries Reported in Union Three-Alarm House Fire

Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire with serious injuries reported for one person at this time.

According to preliminary reports, firefighters were called to 1979 Hillside Avenue after receiving reports of a fire with trapped occupants.

Fast responding firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a single-family two-story house with one person reportedly hanging out of the window of the structure.

While crews were attempting to make entry into the burning home, the victim reportedly disappeared from the window.

Firefighters were ultimately able to find the badly burned unidentified person on the second floor.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Firefighters activated a second then third alarm for manpower as the blaze began to intensify. Crews have not placed the fire under control as of 6:40 p.m. and it is not clear if there are any additional victims inside the house at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
