BREAKING: Three Killed in South Plainfield Shooting

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced today that authorities are currently investigating a tragic shooting in South Plainfield, which resulted in three fatalities.

The incident occurred early this morning at around 9:00 a.m. Law enforcement officials were dispatched to a residence on Coppola Drive after receiving reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims, two males and a female, all suffering from gunshot wounds.

Tragically, the female victim and one male were found deceased at the scene.

The second male victim, who had sustained multiple gunshot injuries, was quickly transported to a nearby hospital.

Despite medical efforts, he, too, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Detective Thomas Rutter of the South Plainfield Police Department and Detective Javier Morillo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are leading the investigation.

Their preliminary investigation suggests that this incident was not a random act of violence. Additionally, they have assured the public that there is currently no ongoing threat related to this case.
