Police are on the scene of a shots-fired incident with a male fighting for his life after shooters fired multiple times at him, causing severe injuries in Newark's West Ward this afternoon.
It happened around 4 p.m., near 26 St. Paul Avenue where gunfire rang out after a male suspect exited a vehicle and began firing.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering two gunshot wounds to his chest at that location.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
UPDATE: Vehicle found in the 600 block of Grove Street in Irvington Township.
