Police in Newark are on the scene of a shooting with a male severely injured in a section of the city at this time.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Roseville Avenue and 7th Avenue around 1:50 p.m.
Fast arriving cops found a male suffering a gunshot wound at that location.
Police managed to detained one person who they believe is connected with the shooting, but at least one other suspect is at large.
According to reports, the suspect is described as a black male with a white hoodie and black Adidas pants.
The victim is reportedly in critical condition.
