Police and EMS rushed to the intersection of Broad and West Emerson streets sometime around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a person struck by a vehicle at that location.
Responding rescue crews found a child - around 8-years-old - injured after a vehicle struck the child at that location.
The child was airlifted to the hospital with what appeared to be life threatening injuries.
