Police in Paterson are on the scene of a shooting with a man down at a location in the city at this time.
According to authorities, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 434 10th Avenue at approximately 5:10 p.m. where officers arrived and found the victim struck in the stomach by a bullet.
Police say the victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center where doctors began treatment.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
This is the 7th person shot in Paterson in 24 hours with one of the victims dying from their injury.
