Over 15 shots fired on a street in Paterson has police on the scene with injured victims at this time.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the 80’s block of Presidential Boulevard at around 7 p.m. where officers arrived and taped off the area after locating two victims shot at that location.
While EMS prepared the victims for transport to the hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital officials contacted Paterson Police when a third victim walked in the emergency department suffering bullet wounds. Police believe that the walk-in victim suffered his injuries on Presidential Boulevard.
Police say a vehicle pulled up in the area and began to fire shots at people walking in the neighborhood.
Officers canvassing the area of Oxford and North 9th located a vehicle that fit the description of the fleeing car and detained about five occupants.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
