Irvington Police are on the scene ordering EMS to two locations where officers have victims suffering gunshot wounds.
According to preliminary reports, multiple rounds of gunfire rang out inside the Vailsburg Park at approximately 4:20 p.m. sending police to the scene where Essex County Sheriff’s Officer evidence that a shooting occurred and blood at that location.
Newark and Irvington Police canvassing the scene found a victim on Myrtle Avenue and a second person struck by bullets on Stockton Place.
Both vicitms’ injuries appear to be life-threatening at this time.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Police are looking for two suspects:
A black male light skinned who wore a white shirt, blue jeans and a backpack. Police say the second suspect is a heavyset black male who was last seen wearing dark clothing.
There were no injured children.
