There are serious injuries reported for a woman found shot in Newark's West Ward.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang put in the vicinity of South Orange Avenue and 14th Street after multiple rounds of gunfire rang out at around 6:45 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene to find a female victim suffering serious injuries after being shot at that location.
The woman was rushed to University Hospital where doctors are treating her and she is said to be in stable condition at this time.
Officers found nearly a dozen shell casings at the crime scene.
There is no description of the shooter at this time.
