There is an active investigation underway in a neighborhood in Newark's North Ward as police look into a shooting that injured a male this evening.
According to preliminary reports, multiple rounds of gunfire erupted in the teens block of Riverside Court sending police to the scene where they located evidence that a shooting occurred and a male victim -in his late 20's- suffering gunshot wounds to the lower extremities just before 7:45 p.m.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where doctors are currently treating serious injuries.
Police canvassed the scene found a house struck by bullets on Grafton Avenue bt no one inside suffered any injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
