There are life threatening injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred a short time ago in the city's South Ward.
Police responed to reports of shots fired that rang out in the single digit block of Wolcott Terrace at around 1 p.m. where arriving officers found a male victim struck to the chest at that location.
EMS rushed the male to University Hospital where doctors began treatment for serious injuries.
According to preliminary reports, a gray four-door vehicle was observed speeding from the scene immediately after the shooting.
There is a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
