BREAKING NEWARK: Life-Threatening Injuries for 3-Year-Old Struck by Hit-and-Run Car in Newark’s West Ward

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been called to the scene of a pedestrian hit-and-run that has 3-year-old fighting for her life at a hospital in Newark.

It happened at approximately 9:50 a.m. in the vicinity of Brookdale and 18th Avenue where a white Chevy Silverado pickup with a black bumper struck the child then drove from the scene northbound on Sunset.

The truck was carrying tires in the back and has white letters on the windshield.

The child was rushed to University Hospital where officials say she is in ’poor’ condition at this time.

The incident is under investigation and the identity of the child has not been released.
