Police are requesting a rush on EMS while officers administer aid to a male victim struck by gunfire in Newark's Upper West Ward.
A crime scene was established near Boyland Street Pool with police searching the area for a suspect responsible for firing multiple found near the recreation center that struck the victim in his back.
Police say the injured is being rushed to University Hospital in serious condition.
According to authorities, the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
