Police have a crime scene established in a section of Asbury Park as detectives investigate a shooting with a person injured at this time.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 1100 Atlantic Avenue around 4:50 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering a bullet wound to his head.
Police requested EMS a rush and notified the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office to assist in the investigation.
There is no information on a suspect or arrests made.
The condition of the victim could not be confirmed at this time.
