Police in Newark are looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a male in a section of the city's South Ward this evening.
According to police, at approximately 4:50 p.m., the victim entered the police headquarters on Clinton Avenue, suffering a bullet wound in his hip.
Police officials said officers canvassed the area and found a crime scene near Clinton and Chadwick avenues.
The unidentified victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at-large.
