A suspect wanted for planting bombs overnight near the train station in Elizabeth and a weekend bombing that injured 29 people in New York has been shot in Linden according to police sources.
Ahmad Rahami whose last known address was Elmora Avenue in Elizabeth suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound at around 11:15 a.m. in the 500 block of East Elizabeth Avenue.
Two police officers were also shot and taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries authorities said.
It is unclear if Rahami was armed with a gun or what prompted the shooting.
