BREAKING LINDEN NJ: Downed Power Lines Ignite Cars in Linden

There were no severe injuries reported after several cars were ignited by downed power lines in a Linden neighborhood early this morning.

Details are continuing to develop as we await a public information request from Linden Police but according to preliminary reports, at approximately 4:04 a.m., firefighters rushed to the vicinity of 208 East Elizabeth Avenue after receiving reports of cars on fire at that location.

Crews arrived at the scene and found at least two cars fully engulfed in flames and beginning to extend to a house at that location.

The electrical utility company was notified after emergency responders notice power lines down in the area of the car fires.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire in a short amount of time according to reports.

There are currently minor power outages in the area.
