Firefighters are on the scene battling a raging fire at a scrap metal yard in Jersey City at this time.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters raced to the single digit block of Linden Avenue -Sims Metal Management- where they found a pile of scrap metal burning at around 4:27 p.m.
Crews began to extinguished the blaze but ordered a marine crew to the scene as the fire began to extend to a second pile of scrap.
As of 5:11, the fire had not been placed under control and the cause is under investigation.
No injuries reported at this time.
