A shot fired investigation has led police to a neighborhood where detectives on the scene are reporting injuries for at least one person at this time.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 400 block of Irvington Avenue before 9 a.m. where officers arrived on the scene and found a person suffering gunshot wounds in the rear of one of the buildings.
The unidentified person was transported to University Hospital in Newark suffering serious injuries according to reports.
The suspect fled the scene wearing dark clothing with white writing on his pants.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
