It happened just before 1:30 p.m where officers responded to reports of shots fired at that location.
Units arrived at the location and found a severely injured and bleeding male struck in the chest by bullets.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where we are being told his injuries are serious.
”The intersection is known for having heavy illegal narcotics transactions with little police attention” according to business owners and residents in the area.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no suspect has been arrested according to reports.
