BREAKING BRIDGEWATER NJ: Authorities Investigate Double Fatal Bridgewater Crash

There is an active investigation underway in a crash that reportedly left two people dead this morning in Bridgewater.

Emergency responders rushed to the 1200 block of US-22 west for reports of a crash with serious injuries reported shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Arriving units located a vehicle crashed into a pole with victims seriously injured at that location reports said.

According to initial reports from the scene, the vehicle struck a deer before losing control and crashing into the pole.

Two victims have been pronounced dead according to reports.

UPDATE 6:15 a.m. The fatally injured were two pedestrians according to authorities.

UPDATE 7:05 a.m. The vehicle did NOT strike a deer at this location. The vehicle struck two pedestrians - only described as a 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman - then came to rest on a pole. The driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
