Police in Asbury Park are on the scene of a shooting that struck a child at a location in the city this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, reports of shots fired sent police to the 100 block of Elizabeth Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. where officers arrived to find a juvenile suffering a gunshot wound to the leg at that location.
The victim was rushed to Jersey Shore Medial center where doctors are treating non-life thretaneing injuries at this time.
The suspect reportedly fired several rounds from a vehicle that sped away durng the shooting according to reports.
Police are now searching for the vehicle.
