BREAKING: 2-Year-Old Among Three Shot in Newark's Central Ward

There were severe injuries reported in a shooting incident that sent three people to the hospital just inside Newark's Central Ward Thursday.

Newark Police Officials told RLS Media’s morning crew the late-night shooting happened around 11:10 p.m. in the 80's block of Cabinet Street. 

Police say shooters began firing multiple rounds in the area that struck two adults and a child at that location. 

Police say a 2-year-old boy suffered a bullet wound in her chest and an adult male was struck by gunfire in his stomach. According to police, a third victim was found suffering non-life threatening injuries. 

Detectives set up a crime scene where they found shell casings around a shopping center on Cabinet Street near the back end of Rutgers Medical School. 

The suspects have not been captured at this time.   

UPDATE: Newark Police changed the victim’s age from 4-years-old to two.
