Police in Perth Amboy are searching for multiple suspects following a bold smash-and-grab robbery at a local jewelry store Wednesday.
According to a report from WABC-TV, the incident took place on Madison Avenue when several suspects smashed the front window of the business and rushed inside, grabbing large amounts of jewelry before fleeing the scene.
Authorities say the suspects attempted to escape in a vehicle, but not before a chaotic confrontation erupted. 
The store’s owners — a mother and daughter — reportedly tried to stop the suspects as they fled, leading to a struggle outside the business.
The suspects ultimately escaped, and police briefly pursued the vehicle out of the area.
No weapons were reported, and no serious injuries were immediately confirmed, though the incident has left the neighborhood shaken.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to identify and locate those responsible.
