Bound Brook School District Serves Thanksgiving Meals to 75 Families

Bound Brook

Donations from ACME Markets and district staff funded turkey dinners.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, the Bound Brook School District received a holiday donation from ACME Nourishing Neighbors and collected donations from school staff.

The donations were used to distribute much-needed Thanksgiving food baskets to 75 families in the district this week.

Every year, staff donate food, gift cards, and money for families in the district who are in need of a Thanksgiving meal.

Staff were also encouraged to donate as part of “School Spirit” Friday, in exchange for dressing casually in Bound Brook gear.

These district donations, along with donations collected at ACME, will provide meals to local families in need this Thanksgiving.

From Oct. 2 to Nov. 25, ACME and its customers partnered to raise money for turkey dinners and everyday pantry essentials in conjunction with their Fight Hunger campaign.

“We want all families in the Bound Brook School District to enjoy their Thanksgiving, and these donations make that possible for families who may have gone without a special meal,” said Assistant Superintendent Beth Fischer.

“We thank both ACME for their continuous commitment to our community, and our generous staff for helping our families during the holiday season.”

“Giving back throughout the year is an important part of ACME’s commitment to the neighborhoods we serve,” said Jim Perkins, President of ACME Markets.

“This holiday season, we are pleased to support the Bound Brook School District, as they continue to help our neighbors.”
