Bloomfield Resident Injured in Overnight Paterson Gunfire

Passaic County authorities announced that approximately 1:40, a.m. Wednesday morning, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Ellison Street on a report of a shot being fired.

Units arriving at the scene were unable to locate a victim or crime scene.

Police say a short time later, the officers were notified that a 27-year-old male Bloomfield resident was being transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson via private vehicle for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation, police say the victim was shot while sitting in a vehicle in the area of Ellison Street.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
