Bloomfield Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Tossing Molotov Cocktail at Synagogue

Police in Bloomfield are looking for a suspect who attempted to torch a Synagogue early this morning. 

Officials say at approximately 9:30 am, Bloomfield Officers responded to Temple Ner Tamid on a report of property damage.

Upon the officer’s arrival, it was quickly determined that a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the Temple’s front door.

Police said after reviewing video surveillance from the Temple. It revealed one male suspect approached the front door at 3:19 a.m. with a Molotov cocktail.

The unidentified suspect then lit the cocktail and threw it at the front door.

Police said the glass bottle broke but did not cause any damage to the Temple.

The suspect then fled down the driveway.

Bloomfield Detectives, Essex County Prosecutors Office, FBI and A.T.F were notified of the incident and a joint investigation is active and ongoing.
