A Bloomfield man, arrested last month in Georgia, pleaded not guilty today in the fatal shooting of a Newark mother.
Perry Howard, 27, entered the plea during today's court appearance before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler.
Howard was arrested after being found in a Savannah, Ga., apartment in November of last year.
Howard is one of four charged with participating in the fatal shooting of Ana Satian of Newark.
According to reports, Satian went to visit a friend on 3rd Street in Newark but as she was walking into the house, at least two of the defendants robbed her of a cell phone and shot her, authorities said.
Satian was taken to University Hospital, where she died the next day, authorities said.
Judge today, referred case to the grand jury.
Satian left two young children behind.
