A rain date has been set for June 21.

According to a release sent by the Mayor’s Office, the event will honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans while recognizing the cultural impact, resilience, and accomplishments of Black communities throughout history.

The day will begin with a morning inspiration and worship service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by an afternoon filled with live performances, food trucks, shopping opportunities, and family-friendly activities.

Organizers also plan to feature local historians and community leaders who will speak on the historical significance of Juneteenth and its relevance today.

The Honorable Bloomfield Mayor Jenny Mundell described the celebration as “an opportunity for all of us to come together as a community to honor the significance of Juneteenth and reaffirm our commitment to justice and equity for all.”

Council Member Sarah Cruz, who serves as the liaison to the Juneteenth Advisory Committee, praised the event for reflecting Bloomfield’s values.

“It’s a day of pride for all of us, and I invite every resident to take part in this powerful and joyful experience,” she said.

Community members and local businesses are encouraged to get involved as vendors, sponsors, or volunteers.
