Police have charged a 74-year-old Mahwah man in connection with a Wednesday night crash that sent a bicyclist to the hospital head injuries.
Police responded to Franklin Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. for a report of a accident with injuries.
Upon arrival police discovered that as Richard Sheeler, bicyclist, was heading east he was struck by Kiyoko Churchwell, driver, who was attempting to make a left onto Commerce Street.
Sheeler was flown by medical chopper to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson suffering head injuries.
It is unclear at this time, if Churchwell, who was charged with careless driving, suffered any injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, according to police.
