Bergen County Man Arrested for Murder of His Elderly Father

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the arrest of 60-year-old Mr. David Allen Hagal of Franklin Lakes, on charges that include murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.AdThe incident happened on Sunday, December 10, when the Franklin Lakes Police Department received a report at around 7:33 a.m. about a deceased individual at 552 Haddon Place.

Responding officers from the Franklin Lakes Police Department discovered the body of 87-year-old Mr. George J. Hagal and declared him deceased at the scene.

County officials have not released the manner in which George Hagal was killed. 

A thorough investigation was carried out by the detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Franklin Lakes Police Department.AdTheir investigation concluded that in the early hours of Sunday, David Allen Hagal committed the murder of George J. Hagal.

Prosecutor Musella emphasized that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
